Canada’s Pathway to Permanent Residence
Canada has recently expanded its list of Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) eligible fields of study to include education-related programs like Early Childhood Education and Teaching. This update also extends to the Express Entry category-based draws, offering international students more opportunities to transition to permanent residency.
Benefits of the Program
- International students enrolling in diploma or certificate programs in these fields can now obtain a PGWP, allowing them to gain valuable Canadian work experience.
- With the new education occupation category in Express Entry, graduates can enhance their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score, making them eligible for permanent residence.
For instance, a graduate holding an Early Childhood Education diploma with at least one year of Canadian work experience could achieve a CRS score of 499, surpassing the latest education draw cut-off of 479. This significantly increases their chances of securing permanent residency in Canada.
