Unlocking Opportunities: Moose Jaw’s Rural Community Immigration Pilot Sectors and Occupations

Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, has unveiled its priority sectors and occupations for the Rural Community Immigration Pilot (RCIP), marking the final rollout of the program in Canada. The RCIP offers an employer-driven pathway to permanent residence, requiring foreign nationals to have a job offer from a designated employer in a qualifying occupation and region, endorsed by the local economic development organization. The initiative aims to address local labour market gaps in rural communities.

Priority Sectors for the RCIP

The Moose Jaw & District Chamber of Commerce has identified the following priority sectors for its RCIP:

  • Business, finance, and administration
  • Sales and service
  • Trades and transport
  • Manufacturing and utilities
  • Education, law and social, community and government services

Companies operating in these sectors are eligible for participation, with specific exclusions such as gas stations, convenience stores, and IT/web development.
