The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) has been allocated 4,761 spaces for 2026, the same as the previous year. To support this allocation, the SINP will introduce significant changes to its immigration programs. At least 50% of nominations will be reserved for priority sectors, with a limit of 25% for capped sectors and the remaining 25% for other sectors. Unlike 2025, there is no 75% in-Canada requirement for SINP nominees in 2026.
Priority Sectors
In 2026, the Government of Saskatchewan will reserve 2,381 provincial nominations for individuals working in priority sectors, including Healthcare, Agriculture, Skilled trades, Mining, Manufacturing, Energy, and Technology. Within this allocation, 750 spaces are reserved for graduates of Saskatchewan-based designated learning institutions (DLIs) employed in priority-sector occupations.
If demand is high, priority sectors may exceed the 50% minimum, potentially reducing nominations for other sectors. Candidates in priority sectors can apply at any time and are not subject to the six-month work permit expiry rule. They can also apply from overseas.
Capped Sectors
Saskatchewan is capping nominations for certain sectors at 25%, including Accommodation and food services, Trucking, and Retail trade. These sectors were also capped in 2025. The province may make mid-year adjustments to the nomination distribution for capped sectors.
Capped Sector Applications: The province has set six application intake windows for employees in capped sectors.
