The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) has recently opened its third intake window on May 4 for employers of SINP candidates in capped sectors.
The province has already reached its cap for all restricted sectors except the trucking sector, which currently has 28 available positions.
Saskatchewan introduced two intakes on May 4, depending on the capped sector, with three sectors in total:
- Retail, trade, and other services: 8:30 a.m. CST – cap met
- Trucking: 8:30 a.m. CST
- Accommodation and food services: 12:30 p.m. CST – cap met
According to the SINP, each position an employer submits an EPA for counts toward the intake window limit.
The province has capped these sectors due to the heavy weighting of SINP nominations towards them over time, ensuring strategic nomination allocation distribution while targeting in-demand sectors.
Position Limits by Sector
For each intake, Saskatchewan sets a cap on the number of positions accepted, operating on a first-come, first-served model.
For the May 4 intake, the province has set a limit of 400 positions, distributed as follows:
- Retail, trade, and other services: 80
- Trucking: 80
- Accommodation and food services: 240
The second intake on March 2 had the same overall position limit of 400 and distribution of positions by capped sector. The province reached its cap for non-trucking sectors within hours but only utilized 83.75% of available positions for the trucking sector.
