Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Programs
The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) is an immigration pathway tailored for individuals who wish to establish their lives in Saskatchewan, Canada.

Operated by the provincial government, SINP plays a crucial role in Saskatchewan’s strategy to strengthen its economic and labor market by inviting skilled workers, entrepreneurs, and international graduates who possess the skills and experience that are in demand within the province.

SINP streams are divided into 4 different categories

  1. International Skilled Worker Category
  2. Saskatchewan Experience Category
  3. Entrepreneur and Farm Category
  4. International Graduate Entrepreneur Category

International Skilled Worker Category

The following streams fall under this category:

Employment Offer -This stream is for skilled workers who have a job offer for a skilled occupation in Saskatchewan.

Saskatchewan Express Entry – This stream is part of the federal Express Entry system and is designed for skilled workers who have a profile in the Express Entry pool and meet the criteria set by Saskatchewan.

Occupations In-Demand – This stream is for skilled workers who do not have a profile in the Express Entry system but possess work experience in an occupation that is in-demand in Saskatchewan.

 

Saskatchewan Experience Category

 

The following streams fall under this category:

Skilled Worker with Existing Work Permit Stream – This stream is for individuals who are currently working in Saskatchewan with a valid work permit. Applicants must have been working in Saskatchewan for at least six months under a valid work permit in a job classified as NOC 0, A, or B, or in a designated trade.

 

Semi-Skilled Agriculture Worker with Existing Work Permit Stream – Targeted at semi-skilled agricultural workers (such as those in livestock-raising, greenhouse, or crop production) who have been working in Saskatchewan for at least six months on a valid work permit.

 

Health Professionals Stream – Designed for physicians, nurses, and other health professionals who have been working in Saskatchewan for at least six months under a valid work permit.

 

Hospitality Sector Project Stream – Aimed at foreign workers currently employed in Saskatchewan’s hospitality sector (such as food and beverage servers, food counter attendants, kitchen helpers, or housekeeping and cleaning staff) who have been working with an approved employer for a minimum of six months.

 

Students Stream – For students who have graduated from a recognized post-secondary institution in Canada. This stream has two sub-categories: one for those who have graduated from a Saskatchewan institution and another for graduates from institutions outside of Saskatchewan. Both require the applicant to have worked in Saskatchewan for a minimum period post-graduation.

 

Long-Haul Truck Driver Project Stream – For long-haul truck drivers who have been working for an approved Saskatchewan trucking firm for a minimum of six months.

Entrepreneur and Farm Category

The Entrepreneur and Farm Category of the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) is specifically designed to attract individuals who wish to own and actively operate a business or farm in Saskatchewan. This category is divided into two main streams:

Entrepreneur Stream

This stream is tailored for individuals who plan to start a business in Saskatchewan or invest in and operate an existing business in the province.

Farm Owner and Operator Stream 

This stream is designed for experienced farmers who have the capital to invest in farming operations in Saskatchewan. Applicants must have proven experience in farming, sufficient personal funds to invest in a farming operation, and a genuine intention to engage in farming in the province. The Farm Owner and Operator Stream includes:  

Farm Owner and Operator Sub-StreamAimed at individuals with proven experience in farming and sufficient capital to invest in and operate a farm in Saskatchewan. Applicants must conduct a comprehensive research visit to Saskatchewan and submit a detailed business plan for their farming operation. 

 

Young Farmer StreamTargeted at young farm families who wish to establish their lives and farming operations in rural areas of Saskatchewan. This stream encourages the development of rural farming communities. Applicants must be under 40 years of age and have a certain level of net worth. They must also submit a detailed business plan that demonstrates the viability of their farming proposal.

International Graduate Entrepreneur Category

 

International Graduate Entrepreneur Stream – This stream is intended for recent graduates from Saskatchewan post-secondary institutions who have already started or plan to start a business in the province. To be eligible, candidates must meet the following criteria:

 

Have completed a full-time Saskatchewan post-secondary degree or diploma of at least two years in length from an eligible institution.

Have a valid Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP).

Have lived in Saskatchewan during their academic program.

Have started a business in Saskatchewan and operated it for at least one year before applying, or plan to start a business that meets the program criteria.

Demonstrate sufficient language proficiency, with a minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level depending on the type of business.
