The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) has recently conducted a significant immigration draw, inviting nearly 200 candidates to apply for provincial nomination.
Prioritizing candidates working in the province, the PEI PNP also considered French-speaking candidates and international graduates for invitations.
Key Highlights of the Recent Draw
The recent draw on November 20 saw the issuance of 190 invitations through the Labour & Express Entry category, making it the largest draw of the year for the province.
Candidates in priority occupations and French speakers were given preference based on their potential economic contributions to Prince Edward Island. Notably, individuals working for PEI employers and graduates from specific Designated Learning Institutions (DLIs) were prioritized for invitation, including the University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI), Holland College, and Collège de L’îlle.
Throughout 2025, the PEI PNP has focused on issuing invitations exclusively through its Labour and Express Entry category, targeting individuals already employed in the province or recent international graduates.
Upcoming Draw on December 18
Unlike other immigration programs in Canada, PEI’s PNP provides a schedule of anticipated Invitations to Apply (ITA) issuances throughout the year. The recent draw on November 20 was the penultimate draw scheduled for this year, with the final draw set for December 18.
Additionally, an extra draw was conducted on October 27, outside the regular schedule. While there may be another unscheduled draw before the year ends, this remains uncertain.
Understanding the PEI Expression of Interest (EOI) System
The PEI PNP utilizes an EOI system to assess candidates likely to contribute to the province’s economy and workforce. Factors considered include language proficiency, education background, work experience, alignment with in-demand sectors, strategic priorities, and employment prospects.
Candidates with high EOI scores and strong potential to settle in Prince Edward Island are more likely to receive an invitation for provincial nomination.
