The Northwest Territories is expanding its Nominee Program with a third application intake window set to open on November 10, 2025, and close on November 24, 2025. The program aims to process an additional 103 eligible applications by the end of the year.
The territory has updated its guidelines for the remainder of 2025, including the removal of work permit expiry date requirements, reinstatement of 2024 work experience requirements for certain streams, and the removal of application submission limits for employers.
Application Assessment Process
To meet its 300-nomination allocation for 2025, the Northwest Territories plans to process up to 103 applications, giving priority to candidates with work permits expiring within the next three months. Applications will be assessed based on the date received, with a deadline of December 23, 2025, for finalization.
Candidates will be notified by email regarding the assessment status of their applications. Those whose applications are withdrawn can reapply in 2026.
Eligibility Criteria Changes
Revised eligibility requirements include allowing candidates to apply regardless of work permit expiry, requiring specific work experience for certain streams, and removing application submission limits for employers until the end of 2025.
Reason for Third Intake Period
The Northwest Territories added a third application intake period due to the high demand and to accommodate more applicants. Previously, only two intake periods were available in 2025.
