Newfoundland and Labrador recently issued 125 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for provincial immigration through the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP) and the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP). This draw marked the eleventh of the year, conducted by the Newfoundland and Labrador Office of Immigration and Multiculturalism (OIM), bringing the total ITAs issued in 2025 to 2,946.
Draw Details
The breakdown of ITAs issued by the OIM between the NLPNP and the AIP is as follows:
| Draw Date | Total ITAs issued | NLPNP ITAs | AIP ITAs |
|---|---|---|---|
| October 9, 2025 | 125 | 73 | 52 |
The OIM did not specify the individual streams within the NLPNP these ITAs were issued through.
ITA Requirements
Individuals seeking to immigrate through the NLPNP or AIP must have a valid job or job offer from an employer in Newfoundland and Labrador. The OIM prioritizes EOIs aligned with the province’s labour market priorities and economic goals for invitations.
Candidates selected under the NLPNP receive an email notification of their ITA and can submit a full application for provincial nomination through their Immigration Accelerator portal account. Through the AIP, designated employers receive a notification and an official ITA confirmation letter via the portal to apply for job offer endorsement directly.
All immigration candidates, except those already in Canada applying solely through the NLPNP, must be issued an invite code by their employer before submitting an EOI.
Background on Provincial Immigration
Newfoundland and Labrador’s total provincial nomination allocation for 2025 is 2,525 spaces shared between the NLPNP and AIP, with a majority dedicated to the former program. Earlier this year, the province secured an increase to its allocation, granting an additional 1,000 nomination spaces to address labour shortages and population needs, primarily for NLPNP candidates. The province’s allotment for endorsements under the AIP remains set at 475.
