New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program Update: Changes in Immigration Pathways

The New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP) has recently announced a significant update affecting the issuance of invitations to apply (ITAs) under the NB Experience pathway of its Skilled Worker Stream.

Effective May 4, 2026, the program will now only issue ITAs to individuals working in healthcare, education, and construction trades until further notice.

Options for Non-Targeted Sectors

Candidates who have submitted an Expression of Interest (EOI) under the Skilled Worker Stream and do not fall under the targeted sectors are advised to explore alternative streams or programs if they meet the eligibility criteria.

The Government of New Brunswick suggests the following actions for eligible candidates:

  • Withdraw your existing EOI and submit a new one under a different program/stream.
  • Maintain your current EOI profile and create a new profile to submit an additional EOI or an Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) endorsement application, if applicable.

Note that the second option requires using a different email address from the one linked to your NBPNP EOI.

Recent Program Changes

This update follows recent significant changes made to the NBPNP just a few months ago, reflecting the program’s ongoing evolution to meet the province’s immigration needs.
