Moose Jaw’s Priority Sectors and Occupations for Rural Community Immigration Pilot 2026

Moose Jaw has released its priority sectors and occupations for the Rural Community Immigration Pilot (RCIP) for 2026, determining eligibility for permanent residence (PR). This year, Moose Jaw, located in south-central Saskatchewan, has expanded its priority list to include one new sector and seven new occupations, reflecting changes in the regional labor market.

A job offer from a designated employer within Moose Jaw’s RCIP-eligible boundary is necessary to qualify for PR through this pathway. The article discusses Moose Jaw’s priority sectors and occupations under the RCIP for 2026 and highlights the differences from 2025.

Moose Jaw’s 2026 Priority Sectors

The city is focusing on six sectors this year, compared to five in the previous year:

  • Business, finance, and administration;
  • Sales and service;
  • Trades, transport, and equipment operators;
  • Manufacturing and utilities;
  • Education, law and social, community, and government services; and
  • Health.

The addition of the health sector is a notable change for Moose Jaw, aligning with trends seen in other RCIP-participating communities like Peace Liard (British Columbia) and Altona/Rhineland (Manitoba).
