Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program Increases Nomination Allocation for 2025

Manitoba has secured an increase in its immigrant nomination allocation for 2025, allowing the province to nominate more foreign nationals for permanent residence (PR).

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) successfully lobbied the federal government for an additional 1,489 nomination spots, bringing the total nomination allocation to 6,239 spots for the year.

This change enables Manitoba to nominate nearly 1,500 additional candidates for PR and settlement in the province by the end of 2025.

Impact on the MPNP

With the restoration of 6,239 nomination spots, the MPNP has recovered 65% of its 2024 allocation. While the specific streams for the additional spots have not been disclosed, the increase will support the MPNP in addressing provincial labour market needs and strategic priorities.

The MPNP has been focusing on inviting candidates through its Skilled Worker in Manitoba and Skilled Worker Overseas streams in 2025. The latter, an enhanced and Express Entry-aligned stream, allows for faster processing times for PR applications.

Employers in Manitoba can participate in strategic recruitment initiatives to identify and invite candidates with essential skills. Candidates must meet specific eligibility criteria, including language proficiency, work experience, education, and age, along with stream-specific requirements.
