Manitoba Invites Skilled Workers: Latest MPNP Draw Results

Recently, Manitoba extended invitations to nearly a thousand skilled worker candidates to apply for provincial nomination through the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP).

Candidates were chosen under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba pathway and the Skilled Worker Overseas pathway, based on their participation in targeted strategic recruitment initiatives.

MPNP Draw Results

In a recent draw held on September 18, the MPNP issued a total of 911 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) to skilled worker candidates, without specifying a minimum cut-off score.

Candidates were selected based on their ability to meet the province’s labor market needs through the Skilled Worker streams.

Selection Criteria

Candidates were invited under both the Skilled Worker in Manitoba and Skilled Worker Overseas pathways, depending on their involvement in strategic recruitment initiatives or temporary public policies facilitating work permits under the MPNP.

The breakdown of LAAs was provided based on specific recruitment initiatives or temporary public policies that candidates were part of:

Strategic Recruitment Initiatives LAAs Issued
Employer Services 18
Francophone Community 24
Regional Communities 18
Ethnocultural Communities 4
Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits 847

Out of the total 911 LAAs, 341 were issued to candidates with valid Express Entry profiles and job seeker validation codes.

Notably, over 90% of the LAAs were granted to candidates benefiting from facilitated work permits under a temporary public policy by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

Eligible individuals living and working in Manitoba, and part of an expression of interest (EOI) pool under an MPNP pathway to permanent residence, could secure a new open work permit under this temporary policy.
