By the end of 2023, the Pearson Test of English (PTE) will be one of the acceptance tests for Canadian immigration applications. Candidates will have three choices which are the IELTS, CELPIP, and PTE.

Depending on personal preferences, applicants prefer certain types of tests and they tend to do better marks.

Currently the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) accept IELTS (General Training) and CELPIP General for the English language. For the French language, the IRCC accepts TEF Canada and TCF Canada.
