Impact on Your CRS Score

Language proficiency is one of the most heavily weighted factors in the Express Entry system. Achieving CLB 7 in all four English skills (reading, writing, listening, and speaking) can have a significant impact on your score.

Specifically, you can receive:

• Up to 12 CRS points for basic human capital for mastery of the second official language
• Up to 50 additional CRS points for additional factors when CLB 7 in English is combined with strong French results

In total, CLB 7 in English can bring you up to 62 CRS points, often enough to move a candidate from below the threshold to receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA).
