Canada’s Temporary Immigration Measures for Individuals in Iran

Temporary measures have been introduced by the Canadian government to assist individuals in Iran dealing with immigration applications or document requests.

For applicants who have received a request letter for documents, such as passports, an extension of 45 days beyond the original deadline has been granted for submission.

Passports are to be submitted through a Visa Application Center (VAC) as the Embassy of Canada will not accept them. Passports already submitted for visa printing will be returned to the VAC for pick-up. If not collected within 30 days, they will be sent back to the Embassy of Canada in Ankara.

Permanent residents who have lost their PR card or have an expired card must apply for a Permanent Resident Travel Document.

If urgent processing is required after applying, a request can be submitted through the IRCC web form with a clear explanation of the situation.

For Canadian citizens and permanent residents seeking consular assistance or information about assisted departure, contact Global Affairs Canada.

Emergency travel assistance form is also available for immediate support.
