Highly skilled foreign nationals with a job offer from select Canadian companies now qualify for a Labour Market Impact Assessment-exempt work permit. This special provision allows these companies to streamline the process of issuing employer-specific work permits compared to other employers in Canada.
The Global Hypergrowth Project (GHP) has enabled these eight companies to offer a five-year employer-specific work permit under the Innovation Stream. Launched by the Canadian government, the GHP aims to support innovative companies in scaling up and accessing key foreign workers.
This week, Canada announced the extension of the Innovation Stream pilot for an additional two years, extending its operation until March 22, 2028.
