Canada’s Express Entry System: Latest Updates and Trends

Recent updates from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) reveal an increase in invitations to apply (ITA) through the Express Entry system.

The latest draw for Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates saw 279 ITAs being issued by the immigration department.

Candidates eligible for this draw were required to have a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 789 and had to create an Express Entry candidate profile before 12:59 a.m., Universal Coordinated Time (UTC) on September 5, 2025.

The latest draw marks the seventh Express Entry selection of the year, with a focus on PNP candidates. The trend in 2026 shows a preference for immigration candidates with provincial nominations and Canadian work experience.
