Canada’s Express Entry Invitations Surge in 2026
Canada has already issued 53,604 Express Entry invitations (ITAs) in the first three months of 2026, a significant increase compared to previous years. This represents nearly half of the total invitations issued in 2025, despite fewer draws.
A substantial number of these invitations were allocated to the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), totaling around 28,000 ITAs, in addition to active participation in French-language draws.
However, the current pace is viewed as unsustainable. Considering Canada’s 2026 immigration goals, it is anticipated that total invitations will range between 90,000 to 100,000 for the entire year. With over half already distributed, a deceleration in future draws is probable.
This scenario could directly impact CRS scores. If fewer invitations are extended in the upcoming rounds, scores might cease their decline and start to increase, especially as new candidates enter the pool.
There is speculation that the early surge might be related to forthcoming programs like TR to PR pathways, although no official confirmation has been released.
While the beginning of 2026 has witnessed robust invitation rounds, the trend is projected to stabilize in the following months, potentially altering score dynamics.
