Canada’s Express Entry Draws in 2025: A Comprehensive Overview

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) recently conducted a new Express Entry draw on October 29, 2025, where they issued 6,000 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to candidates demonstrating proficiency in the French language.

Applicants needed to achieve a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 416, and only individuals who had established their Express Entry profile before September 8, 2025, were eligible for consideration.

This draw marked the third-largest event of the year, following two significant French-language draws that took place on February 19 and March 21. Collectively, candidates in the French category have received a total of 36,000 ITAs in 2025, surpassing all other Express Entry categories. This trend aligns with IRCC’s continuous efforts to enhance Francophone immigration outside Quebec, in line with the goals outlined in Canada’s Official Languages Act.

The draw on October 29 concluded a bustling month, occurring immediately after consecutive draws for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), and streams related to healthcare and social services.

Throughout 2025, IRCC has issued a total of 80,485 ITAs across 46 draws, distributed among various key categories:

  • French-language proficiency: 36,000 ITAs
  • Canadian Experience Class: 22,850 ITAs
  • Healthcare and social services: 9,792 ITAs
  • Provincial Nominee Program: 7,249 ITAs
  • Education: 3,500 ITAs
  • Trade: 1,250 ITAs

These outcomes underscore Canada’s increasing emphasis on linguistic diversity and the integration of the workforce, particularly within industries experiencing shortages in labor.
