Amid the ongoing conflict in Israel and Lebanon, Canada has decided to temporarily halt the removal of certain Israeli and Lebanese nationals from the country. Effective March 7, individuals with removal orders are eligible for an Administrative Deferral of Removals (ADR) to ensure their safety and well-being. Those facing challenges in supporting themselves without working can apply for an open work permit within Canada. While the usual $100 fee for the permit is waived, a $155 processing fee still applies. It’s important to note that this policy excludes individuals deemed inadmissible due to serious criminality, security risks, human rights violations, or involvement in organized crime. The enforcement of removal orders may resume once the situation in Israel and Lebanon stabilizes.
