On August 18, 2026, the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) released updated data on application processing for permanent residence, temporary residence, and citizenship. These recent statistics, available on the government’s official platform, offer insights as of June 30, 2026, showcasing the number of applications processed and those still pending.
Application Statistics
During the first half of 2026, IRCC successfully processed 2,011,375 applications, with 362,410 completed in June alone. The department currently holds 1,539,785 applications in its inventory, indicating a rise of 22,015 applications since May.
Permanent Residence Applications
As of June 30, IRCC managed 712,795 permanent residence applications, an increase of 7,480 from the previous month. These applications encompass economic, family, and protection categories.
Economic Category
Within the economic segment, IRCC is handling 249,555 applications, up by 11,220 from May. Approximately 77% of these applications are in processing, while the remaining 23% are pending due to limited admission spaces under the government’s immigration plan.
The economic category includes various pathways like Express Entry, federal business programs, and regional immigration programs such as the Provincial Nominee Program and Atlantic Immigration Program. From January to June 2026, IRCC finalized 141,105 economic immigration applications, with 30,105 processed in June.
