Recently, the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP) extended invitations to 429 workers in care-related and construction trades occupations to apply for provincial nomination.

The care-focused selections encompassed workers in childcare, healthcare, and veterinary care fields.

Successful candidates who receive provincial nomination can proceed to apply for permanent residence through the federal government.

Key Details

• Care – Healthcare: 143 invitations issued with a minimum score of 76
• Build – Construction Trades: 104 invitations issued with a minimum score of 94
• Care – Childcare: 182 invitations issued with a minimum score of 99
• Care – Veterinary Care: 2 NOCs targeted with a minimum score of 90

Additionally, nominees under the BCPNP can receive support for obtaining work permits from the federal government. Those who have applied for permanent residence can also apply for a Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP).

Since June 9, 2026, nominees applying through the base PNP have been granted the opportunity to apply for BOWPs earlier, thanks to a temporary measure exempting them from the need for an acknowledgement of receipt (AOR) for their permanent residence application.
