Alberta Launches New Online Tool for Foreign Nationals

Alberta has introduced a new digital tool to assist foreign nationals in determining their eligibility for the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) streams.

Users are required to answer a brief questionnaire regarding their situation, and the tool then suggests potential pathways to permanent residence based on the responses provided.

The Government of Alberta recently unveiled the Eligibility Explorer tool on its AAIP updates webpage, aiming to help prospective candidates identify suitable streams based on their intentions to live, work, or establish a business in the province.

Depending on the individual’s immigration goal, the tool tailors its questions to assess eligibility criteria, such as job offers, residency status, work permits, and business investment capacity.

It is important to note that the tool serves as a guidance tool and does not guarantee an invitation post submission of an Expression of Interest (EOI). There are nominal fees associated with submitting an EOI for worker and entrepreneur streams, except for the Farm Stream, which has a direct application process with a separate fee structure.
