2026 Priorities and Selection Approach
For 2026, Alberta’s AAIP draws and nominations will focus on occupations related to health care, technology, construction, manufacturing, aviation, agriculture, and communities designated under the Rural Renewal Stream.
While the province prioritizes these occupations, it may still issue invitations outside of these priorities. Draws are not fixed, and factors for selection may include work experience in priority occupations, being a licensed physician in Alberta, or being a francophone newcomer seeking to immigrate to the province.
Provincial Nomination Figures
As of February 5, 2026, Alberta has allocated 6,403 nominations for the year, with 405 nominations already issued and 5,964 spaces remaining.
