Newfoundland and Labrador Immigration Draws 2026: Latest Updates

Newfoundland and Labrador’s Office of Immigration and Culturalism (OIM) recently conducted two draws on Oct. 9 and Oct. 16, resulting in a total of 257 provincial immigration invitations being issued. The draws comprised 255 invitations through the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP) and 2 through the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP).

Following receipt of an invitation, candidates have a 60-day window to submit a complete application to the province for nomination via the NLPNP or endorsement through the AIP. Subsequently, nominated or endorsed workers can proceed to apply for permanent residence (PR) with the federal government.

Notably, nominees in Canada applying through the base PNP can now apply for a bridging open work permit without the need for an Acknowledgement of Receipt (AOR) for their PR application, thanks to a temporary federal measure effective since June 9, 2026.

Individuals endorsed under the AIP may be eligible for an employer-specific work permit valid for up to two years.
