Recently, the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP) invited a significant number of candidates from care-related occupations and construction trades to apply for provincial nomination.
The care-related selections in British Columbia included workers in health care, child care, and veterinary care occupations.
Application Process
Candidates selected through the BCPNP can submit their applications for provincial nomination within a 30-day window. Successful applicants can then proceed to apply for Canadian permanent residence (PR) through the federal government.
In-Canada nominees who have applied for PR may also be eligible for a Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP).
Since June 9, 2026, a temporary measure has streamlined the process for base PNP nominees to apply for BOWPs without the need for an acknowledgement of receipt (AOR) for their PR application.
