Recently, the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP) issued multiple invitations for provincial nomination under its Entrepreneur Immigration category. These invitations were extended to foreign nationals looking to establish a new business in the province or acquire and expand an existing one.

The successful nominees will receive a work permit support letter from British Columbia, enabling them to apply for a work permit from the federal government. Upon meeting the business performance agreement terms and receiving the nomination, candidates may qualify for a Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP) while awaiting the processing of their permanent residence (PR) application.

Notably, nominees applying for PR through a base PNP pathway can now apply for a BOWP sooner, thanks to a recent federal measure eliminating the need for an Acknowledgement of Receipt (AOR) for their PR application.
