Newfoundland and Labrador has chosen 140 foreign nationals for provincial immigration.

On August 26, the province informed selected candidates that they would have the opportunity to proceed with Canadian permanent residence: 94 through the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP), and 22 through the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP).

Candidates selected through the NLPNP can respond by submitting applications for provincial nomination; those selected through the AIP can respond by submitting applications for endorsement.

Once nominated or endorsed, they can apply to the federal government for permanent residence.

Newfoundland and Labrador’s Office of Immigration and Multiculturalism (OIM) did not specify which NLPNP streams candidates were invited through, or which occupations or sectors were targeted in this draw—its 12th selection round of 2026.

This selection round saw the highest number of AIP invitations issued since March 6, 2026—the province’s first draw of the year. By contrast, AIP invitations were completely absent from the province’s previous draw, a first since it moved to an Expression of Interest (EOI) intake in February 2025.

The latest draw also featured the lowest NLPNP invitation total since July 28 of this year—when Newfoundland and Labrador’s OIM invited 400 candidates through the program.
