The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP) has recently been granted an additional 1,000 nomination spaces for 2026. These spaces are intended to support foreign nationals in care-related occupations, construction trades, and high-demand roles seeking Canadian permanent residence. The total allocation for the BCPNP in 2026 now stands at 6,254 nominations, surpassing the previous year’s allocation following two increments from the federal government.
British Columbia joins Alberta and the Northwest Territories as the third jurisdiction to receive extra nominations in 2026. The announcement of this increase was made on the BCPNP News webpage on August 18, 2026.
