Northwest Territories Nominee Program 2026 Updates
The Northwest Territories Nominee Program (NTNP) has recently received an additional 103 nomination spaces from the federal government for the year 2026. This increase brings the territory’s total allocation to 300 nominations, up from 197, following two previous increments in 2025.
Due to this expansion, NTNP will be conducting an extra Expression of Interest (EOI) draw on August 26, 2026, specifically under the Employer-Driven Stream. Job offer holders need to have their employers submit applications by August 24, 2026, to be eligible for this draw.
The Government of the Northwest Territories announced this development through a news release on their NTNP news page on August 7. Additionally, two online information sessions via Zoom are scheduled for foreign nationals and employers interested in learning more about the application process:
- August 18, 2026: 2:00 p.m.–3:30 p.m. (Registration deadline: August 17 at 5:00 p.m.)
- August 20, 2026: 10:00 a.m.–11:30 a.m. (Registration deadline: August 19 at 12:00 p.m.)
For those wishing to attend, please email [email protected] for the Zoom link, with French interpretation available. The updated selection schedule now includes a total of four draws in 2026, with the first two rounds already completed on March 25 and June 25.
