Vancouver, British Columbia, has been recognized as one of the top 10 most livable cities globally, according to the 2026 Global Liveability Index released by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU).
For the second consecutive year, Vancouver is the sole North American city to secure a spot on the EIU’s prestigious top 10 list.
The Global Liveability Index
The 2026 edition of the EIU’s Global Liveability Index, unveiled on July 7, assessed 173 cities worldwide.
This annual ranking by the EIU evaluates cities based on five key categories, including stability, healthcare, and education, to determine overall quality of life.
Top 10 Most Livable Cities
Europe dominates the list of the top 10 most livable cities, claiming four spots, while the remaining cities are spread across Oceania, Asia, and North America.
The cities featured in this year’s top 10 ranking demonstrate exceptional standards of living and quality of life.
