Significant improvements have been observed in the processing times for permanent residence applications for various economic immigration and family sponsorship applicants, as per the latest update from the immigration department. This positive trend is particularly beneficial for Canadian Experience Class, Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), Quebec Business Class (QBC), and Parent and Grandparent (PGP) applicants.
Moreover, the processing times for citizenship grant submissions have also decreased to a four-month low, indicating a streamlined process for applicants in this category.
While most applicant groups experienced reduced processing times, there was a slight increase in wait times for Express Entry-aligned Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) and spousal sponsorship applicants outside Quebec. However, these increases were minimal, with just a one-month delay.
This article delves into the comparison of wait time estimates for economic immigration, family sponsorship, and citizenship applications between the current update and the previous one from June 8.
PR: Economic Immigration
Enhanced PNP applicants were the only group to encounter increased wait times, while other programs and streams either saw a decline or remained stable.
Express Entry
The processing time for Canadian Experience Class applications has been reduced by one month, aligning it with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada’s (IRCC’s) service standard.
