On May 21, the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) conducted its latest selection round, targeting candidates directly invited under a strategic recruitment initiative.
Candidates were invited through both pathways of the MPNP’s Skilled Worker Stream.
This round marked the province’s 10th immigration selection round of the year, ranking as the third largest among them.
Selection Round Overview
The MPNP issued a total of 96 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) to candidates with Expression of Interest (EOI) profiles submitted under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba and Skilled Worker Overseas categories.
Candidates were required to have received an invitation under a recruitment mission in their EOI profile or through the “Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits for Prospective Provincial Nominee Program Candidates (TPP)” to be considered.
The majority of LAAs were granted to candidates invited through the TPP, representing 50% of the total LAAs issued.
Below is the breakdown of LAAs issued based on the strategic recruitment initiatives:
| Strategic Recruitment Initiative | LAAs Issued |
|---|---|
| Employer Services | 31 |
| Ethnocultural Communities | 9 |
| Francophone Community | 4 |
| Regional Communities | 4 |
| Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits for Prospective Provincial Nominee Program Candidates (TPP) | 48 |
This allocation aligns with Manitoba’s commitment to prioritize select work permit holders for provincial nomination.
