Canada’s immigration department recently released updated processing times for various permanent residence and citizenship applications. Express Entry and Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) applications have seen changes in processing times. The Canadian Experience (CEC) queue and the base PNP inventory have also been affected. On the other hand, the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) and the Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP) have experienced different processing times. This article compares the current permanent residence and citizenship application wait times as of May 12 with the previous update from April 7.

Among economic immigration pathways, only the AIP has seen a decrease in wait time, while others have either increased or remained the same.
Express Entry
The wait time for FSWP applications has increased again after a previous decrease. Here is a comparison of application types between the current (May 12) and previous (April 7) processing times:
