Canada’s Temporary Residence Application Processing Updates

Recent data from the Canadian government indicates accelerated processing times for various temporary residence applications, accompanied by noticeable shifts in actual timelines.

Work permit processing durations have decreased overall, with many applications now being processed in approximately 6 to 9 weeks for those outside Canada. In-Canada applications, on the other hand, are experiencing a reduction in processing time, now averaging around 217 days compared to the previous 240 days.

Study permit processing is currently averaging between 4 to 9 weeks for most applications, depending on the submission location. In-Canada study permit applications are holding at approximately 8 weeks.

Visitor visa processing times have seen a slight increase, now falling within the range of 11 to 48 days, slightly longer than the previous update.

Super visa applications have also shown improvement, with most processing times now ranging from 34 to 168 days, aligning with the service standard of 112 days.

It is important to note that processing times are estimates and may vary based on factors such as application volume, processing capacity, and case complexity.
