Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program Invites Over 900 Master’s and PhD Graduates

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) has recently conducted a selection round, inviting over 900 international student graduates residing in Canada to apply for provincial nomination under its Master’s Graduate and PhD Graduate streams.

Selection Round Details

The province issued a total of 918 invitations to apply (ITAs) to candidates who completed a master’s or PhD degree at an Ontario university. The majority of invitations were extended through the Master’s Graduate Stream.

The number of invitations issued and the cutoff scores varied by stream:

Stream Invitations issued Cutoff score
Master’s Graduate Stream 674 61
PhD Graduate Stream 244 56

Candidates were required to have created their profile within a specific timeframe to be considered for the nomination.

This recent round did not mandate experience in any National Occupational Classification (NOC) code, unlike the previous selection round targeting master’s and PhD graduates.

Moreover, the cutoff scores were higher compared to the previous draw, emphasizing the competitiveness of the selection process.
