The government has announced an increase in fees for all permanent residence (PR) applications, effective April 30, 2026.
Fees will also see an increase for citizenship applications through the right of citizenship fee starting March 31, 2026.
Changes Affecting PR Applications
The fee adjustments will impact processing fees across various PR categories, including economic programs like Express Entry, Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), family sponsorship, protected persons, and humanitarian and compassionate cases.
The Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF) will also be subject to an increase.
If you submitted an online application and paid the previous fees before the specified dates, you will not be affected by these changes. However, applicants who sent paper applications before the deadline may need to pay the difference due to potential delays in processing.
