Canada’s Latest Express Entry Draw
Recently, Canada issued 6,000 Invitations to Apply through the Express Entry system in an unexpected draw that targeted Canadian Experience Class candidates. The Comprehensive Ranking System cut-off score was set at 508, the lowest threshold for CEC candidates since 2024. Candidates were required to achieve a minimum score of 508 to qualify for the invitation.
This draw, the eighth of 2026, marked the third time this year that the focus was on Canadian Experience Class applicants. In total, the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has issued 30,457 Invitations to Apply this year. The majority of these invitations have been extended to candidates already residing in Canada, especially those with Canadian work experience or provincial nominations.
Breakdown of 2026 Draws:
- Canadian Experience Class: 20,000 ITAs
- French-language proficiency: 8,500 ITAs
- Provincial Nominee Program: 1,534 ITAs
The data indicates a consistent preference for candidates within Canada, with Canadian Experience Class and provincial nominees receiving the majority of this year’s invitations.
