The primary economic immigration pathways in Canada include Express Entry, the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), and the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP).

Express Entry

To be considered for PR through Express Entry, candidates must meet the eligibility criteria for at least one program and submit an EOI to enter the candidate pool.

Candidates can be eligible for multiple programs simultaneously, with invitations issued in the following order: Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Worker Program, and Federal Skilled Trades Program.

Based on the candidate’s profile, a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score is assigned, and top-ranking candidates receive Invitations to Apply (ITAs) in draws.

Candidates can maintain an active Express Entry profile while also having an active EOI for a different PR pathway, such as a PNP.

Upon receiving an ITA, candidates can apply for PR through Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
