Canada Immigration Update
Canada recently conducted several immigration selection rounds in early December, with federal and provincial programs extending invitations to candidates already employed in key sectors or residing in specific regions. The primary focus was on healthcare, addressing regional labor shortages, and candidates with strong provincial connections.
Express Entry
On December 11, Canada issued 1,000 invitations in a healthcare and social services Express Entry draw. The minimum CRS score required was 476, slightly higher than the previous round in this category. This draw followed a significant Canadian Experience Class round earlier in the same week.
Ontario (OINP)
Ontario conducted multiple targeted Employer Job Offer draws on December 10 and 11, granting over 2,300 invitations. These rounds specifically targeted candidates in Canada with job offers in regional Ontario, priority healthcare and early childhood education roles, and REDI pilot communities.
Quebec
Quebec invited 1,870 candidates through Arrima on December 4 under its skilled worker program. The selections primarily focused on candidates already residing in Quebec with proficient French language skills and experience in priority sectors like healthcare, manufacturing, construction, and regulated professions.
British Columbia
British Columbia issued 410 invitations through the BC PNP on December 10. The majority of invitations were extended to high-scoring candidates, with a smaller subset targeting individuals in highly paid senior and specialized positions.
