Canada Invites 291 Candidates for Permanent Residence in Latest Express Entry Draw
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) recently extended invitations to 291 candidates to apply for permanent residence in its most recent Express Entry draw conducted on September 29. These invitations were specifically targeted at Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates who achieved a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 855. To be eligible, candidates were required to have established their Express Entry profile prior to April 8, 2025, at 1:25 a.m. UTC.
Key Highlights of the Draw
- This draw marked the seventh Express Entry draw held in September and the 18th draw focused on PNP candidates this year.
- Earlier in the same month, IRCC conducted draws that concentrated on trades, education, French-language proficiency, and Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates.
2025 Statistics
Throughout 2025, IRCC has issued a total of 65,838 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) through the Express Entry system. The majority of ITAs were allocated to French-language proficiency draws (25,500) and CEC candidates (20,850). This was followed by healthcare and social services (7,500), PNP (6,947), education (3,500), and trades (1,250).
PNP Advantage
Given the ongoing frequency and competitiveness of PNP draws, candidates nominated by provinces continue to maintain an edge within the Express Entry system, despite the typically higher CRS cut-offs required.
