Canada Invites Trade Workers: Latest Express Entry Draw 2025

The Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has recently invited 1,250 candidates in the first Express Entry draw of 2025, specifically targeting trade occupations.

To qualify, candidates needed a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of at least 505, a significant increase from the previous trade draw in October 2024, which had a cut-off score of 433. This rise in the CRS score requirement can be attributed to the extended period between draws and the growing number of candidates in the pool.

Since the beginning of 2025, over 61,000 invitations have been extended through the Express Entry system, with a majority of invitations being allocated to Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates, Canadian Experience Class (CEC) applicants, individuals proficient in French, and other priority categories.

According to government data, there is a possibility of an additional 2,000 invitations being issued for trade occupations before the year concludes. However, it is important to note that IRCC reserves the right to modify its plans at any given time.
