Recently, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has extended invitations to 3500 tradespeople to apply for permanent residence through Express Entry.
To qualify for this opportunity, candidates were required to meet the minimum work experience for the Trades category and achieve a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 476. Additionally, they needed to have created an Express Entry candidate profile before a specified date and time.
- Minimum CRS score of 476
- Profile creation deadline: October 1, 2026, 12:47:55 UTC
For individuals with a CRS score of 476, the profile creation deadline was May 28, 2026, at 16:55:23 UTC.
Foreign nationals currently in Canada who have applied for permanent residence through Express Entry may qualify for a Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP).
If their current work permit expires before a decision is made on the BOWP, they can maintain their work authorization under certain conditions by preserving their status while residing in Canada.
Family members who meet the criteria can also apply for an open work permit.
