Recently, the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP) invited 714 high-earning and high-scoring candidates to apply for provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence.

The selection included 426 skilled workers with annual salaries of at least $105,000 and 288 workers scoring a minimum of 131 points under the province’s ranking system.

Application Process

Invited candidates have a 30-day window to submit their applications for provincial nomination. Successful nominees can then proceed to apply for permanent residence (PR) with the federal government.

Canadian residents may also qualify for a bridging open work permit (BOWP) after submitting their PR application.

Under a temporary federal measure effective June 9, 2026, nominees applying for PR through a base PNP stream can obtain a BOWP faster without needing an Acknowledgement of Receipt (AOR) for their PR application.

Selection Criteria

The latest selection round in British Columbia was based on candidates’ wage/salary linked to a TEER 0–3 job offer or their profile registration score.
