Between September 10 and 23, the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) issued a total of 380 invitations to apply for provincial nomination, with a focus on workers in healthcare, technology, manufacturing, and agriculture.

Successful candidates who receive a nomination can proceed with their application, and those approved by the province can then apply for Canadian permanent residence through the federal government.

Application Process

After submitting an application for permanent residence, nominees under the Alberta Opportunity Stream can apply for a bridging open work permit (BOWP). This allows them to benefit from a temporary federal measure that expedites the process for base PNP applicants.
